National Title & Championship Record for Jack Fenlon

The National U20 and U23 Championships kicked off the domestic Indoor season with plenty of St Abban’s athletes making the journey to Athlone to compete. Jack Fenlon was the stand out performance taking victory in the U.20 1500m in a Championship Record of 3:51.75. Jack led from the opening 100m and despite a number of challengers he remained composed to take victory. His time of 3:51 shaved 3 seconds off the previous Championship Record. Aoibhin McDonald picked up a bronze medal in the U.20 Pole Vault with a 2.70m season opener. Rachel Ayres kicked off her indoor season with a PB of 4:47 in the 1500m. Katie Baldwin and John Delaney were our other competitors on the day. Katie jumped 4.26m in the U20 Long Jump and returned later to finish 8th in the Triple Jump with a best of 9.97m. John Delaney finished 3rd in his heat of the 400m, running 51.77 in the process.
