Fit4Life Summer League Begins
A bumper turnout of almost 200 participants marked a fantastic start to this year’s Fit4Life
Summer League in Luggacurren on the opening night of competition.
A total of 198 walkers, joggers and runners took part in the opening stage, creating a brilliant
atmosphere and highlighting the continued popularity of the league among participants of all
ages and abilities.
Leading the field home was Ian Molloy in a winning time of 13:30, while Leah Lawler was
the first female finisher across the line in 14:44.
The Fit4Life Summer League continues over the coming weeks, with another strong turnout
expected as participants build fitness, enjoy the social aspect of the series and challenge
themselves across each stage of the competition.

South Leinster Schools Day 2
Athletes from club produced a series of impressive performances at Day 2 of the South
Leinster Schools Championships in SETU Carlow, proudly representing their respective
schools while also highlighting the strength of local athletics talent.
A number of club athletes secured medals and qualification places for the upcoming Leinster
Schools Championships, which will take place in Tullamore on Monday, May 18 and
Wednesday, May 20.
Among the standout performances on the track, Shane Kelly claimed gold in the Minor Boys
75m hurdles and also topped the podium in the Minor Boys high jump. Zoe Dunne earned
silver in the Junior Girls 80m hurdles before adding gold in the long jump, where Faye
Brennan took silver. Brennan also impressed on the track with a silver medal in the Junior
Girls 200m.
Rian Murphy produced a strong run to win gold in the U16 Boys 200m, while Ella Murray
secured victory in the Minor Girls 800m. Sinead Fitzpatrick also struck gold in the Junior
Girls 1500m, and Katie Harnett won the Inter Girls 1500m steeplechase title.
In the field events, Sophie Dowling earned silver in the Junior Girls triple jump, while Cathal
English claimed silver medals in both the Junior Boys triple jump and javelin.
There were also podium finishes for Fionn O’Sullivan, who took bronze in the Senior Boys
400m hurdles, Will Duffy in the Senior Boys 2000m steeplechase, and Aoife Lawlor in the
Minor Girls high jump.
Congratulations to all athletes who have qualified for the Leinster Championships, and best
wishes to the club’s older juvenile athletes competing in the South Leinsters on Wednesday.
