Hit the Diff 2023 Huge Success

Tractor and Car Run

Saturday 19th of August saw the club host our second annual ‘Hit the Diff’ Tractor and Car run. This year’s event saw the addition and improvement of many features from last year's event. This includes the addition of a Trad Night which followed on from the Tractor Run.

The Tractor and Car Run was a great success. There was a great atmosphere on the day and the event allowed people who live far and wide a chance to meet. There was great support with vehicles of every type proudly on display from 2 pm to 4 pm. It was also a great sight to see so many parents or grandparents of current members drive through the gate. Once the display of vehicles was over the cars and tractors took off on their respective routes, meeting spectators along the routes. Both routes were well-planned and well-marshalled. Once the convoy of machines returned, it was into the clubhouse for refreshments.

The event's success was helped by the sun shining brightly on the day. However, the bulk of the success was due to the outstanding organisation of the club's Event Committee. Also, a huge thank you to all those who brought a car, tractor, lorry, or bike on the day. Your support makes the great work we do possible and does not go unnoticed. An additional thank you to all the volunteers who donned a high vis on the day. An especially welcome sight was to see so many teenagers helping on the day.

Trad Night

The Trad Night was a new feature this year. The event consisted of seven extremely talented musicians performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m in Behans Lounge Tolerton. It’s hard to do justice to the quality of these musicians, but those present can attest to their outstanding performance. Following the Trad performance, Alister Fingleton took to the stage. Not to be outdone by the opening act, Alister put on an excellent show, receiving rave reviews. By the night's end, he had the dance floor at capacity dancing to hits new and old. Again, thank you to all who helped and supported this event.

Thank you to the events committee.
