Fitzpatrick Impresses on International Debut at SIAB Championships

Sinead Fitzpatrick delivered a standout performance at the SIAB Schools Cross-Country
Championships, marking a superb international debut on Saturday. Representing Heywood
Community School, Sinead competed on a challenging and undulating course set within the
scenic Faenol Estate. Despite the demanding terrain, she demonstrated remarkable
determination and composure throughout the Junior Girls race.
Fitzpatrick crossed the finish line in an impressive 7th place overall and was the second Irish
runner home, playing a crucial role in securing a team bronze medal for Ireland. Her
performance contributed significantly to Ireland’s 3rd-place finish in a highly competitive
international field.
The event, held in Bangor, brought together some of the most talented young athletes from
across schools in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Sinead's achievement marks a
memorable conclusion to her cross-country season and signals a bright future ahead in the
sport.
