Fit4Life Summer League Finale
The St Abban’s A.C Fit4Life Summer League came to a close on Wednesday evening with the
final stage taking place at our club grounds in Monavea. The route took athletes from the
track around the renowned ‘Turra Triangle’ and back to the track where they finished at the
tower. Well done to all 171 finishers. Will Duffy was first home in a time of 12:57, while Leah
Lawler was first lady across the line in 14:27. There were plenty of pb’s and improvements
throughout the field with athletes sharing their stories over some refreshments in the
clubhouse. Afterwards, the prizes for the overall summer league were presented. Prizes
were awarded based off of competitors best 5 stages in the overall series. In the ladies
category Grace Reilly claimed top prize with 9 points, Bronwyn McDonald finished 2 nd with
14 points, Mel Broderick 3 rd with 18 points, followed by Suzanne Dunne on 22points and
Sarah Fleming in 5th place with 33 points. In the Men’s, there was a clear winner Kristian
Redmond who finished with 7points. Next was Ken Archibald with 21 points, Shane Stynes
was 3rd with 23 points, followed by Patrick Dunne on 26 points and in 5 th place was John
Dillon on 50 points. The growth of the league is very clear from year to year which can be
seen from the numbers involved in the series this year. Throughout the 2025 Fit4Life
Summer League 1020 athletes finished across all six stages. There were over 20 clubs
represented with many athletes completing a race for their first time. The largest race this
year was in Killeen where 190 competitors took part. The club extends a huge thank you to
everyone who helped with the organisation and running of each stage. There are far too
many people too mention between marshalling junctions, providing water, lead cars, tail
walkers, refreshments, spot prizes and many more jobs which make the league a great
success. Special thanks must go to Pauline Lawlor who co-ordinates the whole league
helping it grow from year to year. Finally a huge thank you to our event sponsors, Farrell
McElwee Solicitors and Clonmore Meats Killeshin, for their continued support which is
greatly appreciated and our timing experts Pop Up Races who provide a fantastic service.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2026 for the Fit4Life League.
