Laois Athletics County Board have released the dates for the upcoming cross country session. This year looks set to be another fantastic year of action within the county. 

Dates for 2023 Cross-County 

Day 1     Even Ages & Novice                 24.09.2023   St Abbans A.C

Day 2     Uneven Ages & Intermediate   08.10.2023   Ballyroan Abbtleic & District A.C.

Day 3     B Championships & Masters   26.11.2023   T.B.C.

Day 4     Laois Senior                              17.12.2023   St Abbans A.C

Regarding Procedure for Novice & Intermediate

Can clubs please forward, by  27th August, the name and D0B of the athletes who wish to be considered for regrading? Athletes can only regrade one category below their current classification e.g., Senior to intermediate or intermediate to novice.

Changes to rules for the upcoming session 

1. Only the top two finishers in the Novice and Intermediate will lose their eligibility for the following years. 

2. Juniors who finish in the top 3 in the senior will automatically lose Novice and Intermediate eligibility. 

3. Teams

 In the event that there are not 3 full teams in juvenile races, a team of 3 can medal after a team of 4 – goes on points

A full team will take 1st place regardless of points
